Annual review 2009
As usual we started our 9th year of touring as THE DOORS EXPERIENCE
in Zurich at the New Years Eve Doors Celebration with hundreds of
enthusiastic fans, who came from all Swiss counties, France, Germany,
Western Austria, Italy, France, Croatia and other countries.
Due to many requests we had our fan
t-shirts also produced in 5 small sizes
for children, whereas sizes from S to XXL are still available as well.
Some new mp3s were added to
www.thedoors.at in 2009, as well as some new video footage
from this year’s Zagreb concert. A lot of this is happening on our
youtube-site
www.youtube.com/baronlejois, where one
clip “Break On Through in Zagreb 2007” has been downloaded more than
112.000 times up to now. Download figures of songs on
www.myspace.com/thedoorsexperience have risen enormously once
more. At the end of the year we counted 2.7 million downloads. Plus
there is still Tihana’s Official Doors Experience Fan Site on myspace
and our
Facebook-Fanseite.
The year 2009 was closed almost like it was started: in the tightly
packed Innsbruck Treibhaus, at the totally sold out Kammgarn club in
Hard, and instead of the Alte Kaserne this time at the very famous
Volkshaus Zurich (where Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger had played
themselves 3 years ago with Riders On The Storm).

European
TV channel arte and German highly respected ZDF theatre channel aired
the documentary „Jim Morrison lebt” (Jim Morrison is alive) several
times, which starts off with footage of our concerts in Austria and
Slovenia. Plus it features interviews with Jason “Jim” Boiler and
enthusiastic fans.
Our tour year is well documented on
www.thedoors.at, where we also reworked
the navigation bar, re-opened the forum plus added new galleries and
press reviews.
We are looking forward to seeing you again during our tour 2010!

Dec 12th,
2009 |
New concert dates for
2010 have been added: One more concert at the Szene Wien, one of
Vienna’s finest locations, on May 27th. Plus an appearance at Spielberg/Styria
together with a Cream tribute band on October 9th. Negotiations are also
on about bringing our show to the Feast of Friends festival 2010 once
more. Tickets for our concert at the Zurich Volkshaus on New Year’s Eve
can be purchased
here.
Loads of new videos are
on-line on youtube:
Wild Child &
Crystal Ship
as filmed at the Stuttgart Wagenhallen with heavy liquid lights effects,
Light My Fire from Stuk Maribor 2009, a
clip about our last appearance at the Feast of
Friends festival 2006,
Build Me A Woman as performed in
Innsbruck, a retrospective of some of our earliest concerts from 2001,
plus Klaus’s breathtaking stunt at the climax of his
Light My Fire solo from the Stadtsaal
Krems 2003. All footage has been personally brought in shape for you by
our very own Jason “Jim” Boiler.

A little road movie about our concert in Maribor has
just been put on-line in youtube. In addition to the enthusiastic
Sloveenian fans you'll see fans from Croatia, France, Spain, Turkey,
Hungary and Southern Austria, wo all came to the capital city of
Slovenia to celebrate The Doors' music with us and to honor Jim
Morrison.

Who Do You Love (recorded live at the Szene Wien,
Vienna, Nov. 5th 2009) is on-line on youtube, including backstage
footage. Thanks, Oliver Koinig, for filming!
Last week we played concerts at Vienna's Szene Wien
and at the Maribor Stuk. Both are top locations of the respective
capital cities. Both had full house and crowds that enjoyed themselves
to the maximum. While the Vienna audience contained fans from Slovakia,
Hungaria, Czech Republic and almost all Austrian counties, in Maribor we
were able to welcome guests from Croatia, France, Hungaria and southern
Austria in addition to the Slovenian fans. Both locations will see us
again quite soon, and we are looking forward to playing them again in
front of such kind and energetic crowds.

2009 |
About four years ago two young sound engineers
invited us to make use of older recording techniques (16 track tape
recording). So we spent a night at the analogue studio of the Vienna
School of Audio Engineering (SAE) to record some songs. A video clip of
the session containing the song Break On Through has turned up on the
web recently after all these years, produced by
www.sum-music.com. Jason himself has retouched this clip and
put a remastered version of it on-line on youtube now.
We warmly recommend you to buy some of the much
cheaper pre-sale tickets for our
upcoming show at the Szene Wien (Vienna) on November 5th.

Last week our tour led us through Holland. The De
Pul club in Uden, which we played for the second time, was sold totally
sold out.
The other day we played at
Open Keuken in Doentinchem, a brand new
first class restaurant, which was very fascicnating to play in.
The marvellous reception at both locations, the
friendly Dutch promoters with their caring teams made us forget the long
and exhausting journey. We are happy about the Dutch guest book entries,
which proof that we have found loads of new fans in Holland.
Our last video of the the Almenno Rock Festival 2009 went on-line
on youtube.

It's been worth the wait for those who wondered if
we would play Zurich again on New Year's Eve this year. Swiss top
promoter Pino Quaresima has just confirmed the 31st of December for us,
but not as usual at the Alte Kaserne, but at the most famous Zurich
concert hall, the Volkshaus, where top stars like Tina Turner, AC/DC,
Deep Purple, Pearl Jam, Pat Metheny, die Kasierchiefs, Ultravox, Scooter,
Journey, Dream Theater, Asia, Pur, Alpha Blondy and most recently Riders
on The Storm - featuring Ray Manzarek and Robbie Krieger - have played.
We'll see you on New Year's Eve at the Zurich
Volkshaus!

Our version of Break On Through has surpassed 100
000 plays on youtube today.
Our video archive will be revisited soon, so that our fans will have new
footage to keep them warm during cold autumn and winter days.

Sept. 9th,
2009 |
The weekend in Italy was pure pleasure for us. 3000
enthusiastic fans celebrated with us at the Almenno Rock Festival.
Amidst them were fans, who even came especially from Germany, France,
Croatia and Austria. The ultimate experience was when a great fireworks
was shot off near the festival site and painted the evening sky in moody
light, exactly while we played The End.

July 22nd,
2009 |
The coldest day of an otherwise very hot week was
last Saturday, when we headlined the "Rocking in The Rain" Festival in
Chiuso / Italy (near Bolzano). Hundreds of fans withstood the low
temperatures and made us and themselves feel good at this extremely well
organised open air festival. The stage sound was excellent, the
promoters friedly and caring. Here are some pics by Loïc Duliscouët.
Thanks, Loïc!
Those who attended our concert at the Innsbruck "Treibhaus" on July 10,
will agree: to have the show not downstairs in the cellar as usual but
in the so-called "Tower" was a great experience for all involved. The
"Tower", a theatre with two balconys all around the room, is a great
place to perform Doors music. Here are some photos.

On the occasion of our last concert at the Vienna
Reigen club (May 15th), we were asked repeatedly when the next

the Szene Wien again.

Two new concert dates have been added towards the
end of the year.
On November 7th we will play the Stuk club in
Maribor for the second time. That's Slovenia first class location, where
the live footage for the TV documentary about us by trans-European
station was filmed last year.
On December 30th we will play one of Vorarlberg's
most reknowned clubs for the third time in total: tha Kammgarn in Hard.

We will be headlining this year's Almenno Rock Festival near Bergamo
once more. We will appear there on Saturday, September 5th, and are
already heavily looking forward to doing so.
Due to the decreasing number of entries
we decided on closing the forum down. In times of myspace and other
social websites a forum is not state of the art anymore.
Nevertheless we are looking forward to reading your entries in our
guestbook, as well as your comments and messages on
myspace. Plus there is also the

An enthusiastic crowd
gathered at the Szene Vienna this Thursday. They provided us with
reactions we have only so far witnessed outside Austria or maybe at the
Innsbruck Treibhaus. Tickets pre-sale figures made us expect quite a
night, but what we finally lived through was gorgeous. When Jason got
out of the backstage area after the concert, he was once more greeted
with standing ovations for minutes. The Viennese audience was also in
for a special treat, as we performed L’America from L. A. Woman and
Build Me A Woman from Absolutely Live for the very first time.
Here you see some pics taken by press
photographer Helmut Stern, who promised us even more of his great
material, which we are going to present you in a gallery soon.

Our very last two
concerts for 2008 were great. Fans in Innsbruck (Dec. 30th) and Zurich (Dec.

attended by fans from various European countries, some of who travelled
very far to say hello to the New Year with us.
On this occasion we'd like to
thank all our fans and friends who turned 2008's concerts into a really
unforgettable DOORS EXPERIENCE.
Our annual review will be

become just that, a prosperous and successful year 2009.

Annual review 2008
As
almost usual by now we started our 8th year of touring as THE DOORS
EXPERIENCE in Zurich at the New Years Eve Doors Celebration with
hundreds of enthusiastic fans, who came from all Swiss counties,
Germany, Western Austria, Italy, France and Croatia.
A
change in our line-up took place in 2008. Our bass player Martin Plangl
told us that he would quit the band for good by the end of the year due
to personal reasons. Our new bass player Jürgen Schaupp took over bass
duties on January 22nd in the Vienna Reigen club on the occasion of
Martin’s farewell concert. Since then Jürgen has adapted well into the
group as a musician and friend.
But
the year 2008 had even more highlights for us in store: We have played
concerts in 10 different countries this year, many of which we visited
twice. New additions were Turkey, the Netherlands, Belgium and France.
In these countries plus in Germany, Italy, Slovenia, Croatia,
Switzerland and Austria we gained loads of new fans. Another first for
2008 was that promoters in Italy and Turkey had us go to their countries
by plane.
Like in every year we also added songs to our
repertoire in 2008: Strange Days, L’America and the song Soft Parade in
its full length. The fans highly appreciated this special treat.
Due to many requests we had our fan
t-shirts also produced in 5 small sizes
for children, whereas sizes from S to XXL are still available as well.
One set of kids sized shirts has been set aside for Paul Bergmaier,
Klaus’s baby boy who was born on February 19th 2008 as the first child
within the group.
Some new mp3s were added to
www.thedoors.at in 2008, as well as some new video footage
from this year’s Zagreb concert. A lot of this is happening on our
youtube-site www.youtube.com/baronlejois ab. Download figures of songs
on www.myspace.com/thedoorsexperience have risen enormously once more.
At the end of the year we counted 2.4 million downloads. Plus in
December our Croatian fan Tihana started the Official Doors Experience
Fan Site on myspace.
The year 2008 was closed like it was started: in the
tightly packed Innsbruck Treibhaus and the Alte Kaserne Zurich.
On
December 27th European TV channel arte premiered the documentary „Jim
Morrison lebt” (Jim Morrison is alive), which starts off with footage of
our concerts in Austria and Slovenia. Plus it features interviews with
Jason “Jim” Boiler and enthusiastic fans. This show will also be
broadcast on ORF1 and 3sat in 2009.
Our
tour year is well documented on
www.thedoors.at, where we also reworked
the navigation bar, re-opened the forum plus added new galleries and
press reviews.
We
are looking forward to seeing you again during our tour 2009!

engines hum!“
